Our office and nearly 70,000 square foot manufacturing facility is located at 54 Washburn Street, Bridgeport, CT. Medelco’s manufacturing, assembly, shipping and receiving has taken place at this location since 1990. Medelco also maintained front offices in Trumbull, CT; however, in an effort to streamline operations and reconnect the office and manufacturing operations, Medelco relocated its office facility to the manufacturing facility in June, 2008.
Our facility layout consists of zones with separate, distinct purposes. These zones include component and packaging storage, production and assembly lines, assembled product warehousing and shipping & receiving areas. During production, our staff operates with over 200 linear feet of conveyor system for assembly of carafes, percolators, kettles and filters. This assembly includes use of state-of-the-art pneumatic fasters, adhesive applicators and packaging heat tunnels. We also maintain corrugated compactors for baling and recycling of nearly 40 tons of corrugated and paper materials every year. The vast floor area, along with high ceiling heights, allows us to maintain proper organization and inventory efficiencies.
Our facility is ideally located immediately adjacent to Interstate-95. This proximity allows for ease of trucking access which results in shipping/receiving economies for us and our customers. The shipping and receiving facilities include 4 loading docks and 1 drive-in overhead door. These facilities are strategically located at separate portions of the building – this allows us to accommodate the various tasks including loading/unloading of product components as well as shipping of finished products.
